The Marquette Companies, a Chicago based real estate consortium, is seeking to partner with colleges and universities to attract high grade talent to its broad based real estate operations. In the partnership, Marquette produces real world business content while contributing it to learning organizations to develop class room and e-learning curriculum for their students. The objective is to adequately prepare students for the real estate industry while providing an efficient system of delivering apprenticeship and job placement opportunities.
Marquette has traditionally groomed employees through its "Marquette School for Advanced Management", (MSAM) a corporate training program available only to Marquette employees. "Our appetite for top talent demands that we seek alternative and more efficient ways to develop entry level employees", according to Rick Harb, a Managing Partner of the Marquette Companies and head of its management operations. "We are seeking learning organization partners to share our broad based and diverse real estate experience with in return for curriculum development. It will provide us with an efficient method of developing apprentices and graduates who are groomed to effectively enter the work place and be immediately productive".
The Marquette School of Advanced Management (MSAM) currently operates in its corporate headquarters in a Chicago suburb and provides approximately twenty five courses that are either skill based or developmental in nature. "We know that a partnership with the right institution will create a new, more comprehensive curriculum that is unrivaled in the educational field and which will provide an attractive outlet for students seeking internships and future jobs with real estate organizations like Marquette".
Marquette envisions curriculum offerings that include both academic and practical education in real estate development, real estate accounting and finance, condominium marketing and sales, land investment strategies, asset management, senior housing, retail development and management, property management, leadership development, and unique work in the areas of communication, accountability, community building and volunteer development and programming.
Marquette offers an extraordinary opportunity for learning institutions to create a broad based curriculum in partnership with a multi-faceted and nationally recognized real estate company that already has an internal real estate school and that is willing to share its expertise and experience in a practical way.
According to Harb, "Our organization already provides practical experience and internships to upper classmen. "Our goal is to formalize the work into both class room and e-learning platforms that will provide compelling benefits to visionary colleges and universities in serving its students. This comprehensive curriculum will set you apart from other schools and also provide a robust outlet for future job placement with Marquette and its numerous affiliates throughout the country."
Job placement and apprenticeships are important features of our New Economy Town Programs designed to foster "sticky" Neighborhoods and facilitate local economic growth.
